The Society of Environmental Engineers is a club where students
can meet, network, and work alongside other students and
Environmental Engineering professionals, gaining valuable knowledge of the field. The club provides several exciting opportunities to learn and gain a deeper understanding of the profession outside the classroom. These opportunities include general body meetings, volunteering opportunities, differing plant tours, access to FWEA and FSAWWA seminars, the FWRC Conference, and more.
One main way to promote collaboration and facilitate hands on experience is through participation in the FWRC Conference student design competition (SDC). The SDC consists of 2 challenging categories, wastewater and environmental, and students from many other universities in Florida compete for 1st. Students must follow a technical set of rules to design and construct challenging projects utilizing knowledge and applications gained from classroom studies.
